WHat we do

Implantology- Dental Implants

The dental implants are a modern dental technic which it gives to patient a complete masticatory function and a new smile.

Implantology

An implant is a screw-shaped artificial tooth root that is inserted into the jaw to cover the space of the missing teeth. The implants are made of titanium because the jawbone perceives the titanium material as a part of the body. Therefore, the success rate of implants with high tissue compatibility is very high. Implants are a very special solution that will provide the closest balance of strength to your teeth, allowing you to laugh beautifully and eat with pleasure.

Application of the dental implant

  • Treatment options for a single tooth missing are implantation or bridge treatment. If the implant is applied, the treatment can be provided without any treatment to the teeth close to the gap. The implantation procedure can be performed under sedation or general anesthesia.
  • Diagnosis: The first exam will determine your general health, your general oral condition, the location and number of missing teeth, and your gum health. After that, various imaging tests are performed to learn the quantity and quality of the bone. In this way it is decided at which points of the jaw, how many implants will be made and how a prosthesis will be applied.
  • Surgery: In this operation, the implants are placed in the jawbone, and the implants are usually covered with gingiva and passed to the waiting process called osseointegration. This waiting period varies from 3 to 6 months, depending on the bone structure and procedure.
  • Final phase: At the end of the osseointegration period, the implants fused to the bone are fixed with parts called healing heads to shape the gingiva.

Implantology with immediate loading

The main goal of immediate loading is to establish direct contact with the bone implant. Immediate loading implants are the technique that allows you to complete the placement of the implants and the insertion of the restorations on the same day.

Computer-guided implantology

The use of software associated with digital images, acquired by computed tomography, is a new trend in dentistry. CAD / CAM technologies associated with stereolithography provide professionals with tools to improve design and rehabilitation with greater confidence.

Bone reconstructions

Bone crest reconstruction is a surgical technique to thicken bone when the patient's natural residual bone is so thin that it does not allow implant placement. New digital technologies make it possible to carry out a preliminary diagnosis to assess the general condition of the bone structure that will have to house one or more implant pins, so as to find the best solution for each patient.

Zygomatic and basal implants

Zygomatic implants are an excellent opportunity for the rehabilitation, even with immediate load, of the severely atrophic upper jaw. Zygomatic implants are similar to conventional implants, with one main difference: length. As the name suggests, zygomatic implants extend to an area of the jaw made up of dense zygoma bone. The zygoma bone is located above the upper jaw, which means these implants are typically used to restore teeth in the upper posterior region of the mouth.

Sinus lift

A sinus lift is a surgery that adds bone to the upper jaw in the space between the molars and premolars, which is also the space between the jaw and the maxillary sinuses on either side of the nose. To make room for the bone, the sinus membrane must be moved upward, or "lifted," which gives the surgery its name. Thanks to our professional doctors, this technique is performed in a way that the patient does not feel any pain.

Transposition of the inferior alveolar nerve

The inferior alveolar nerve transmits the sensitivity of the teeth of the lower arch, the lower lip and the skin of the chin. With the loss of teeth, the alveolar ridge undergoes a continuous and irreversible process of bone resorption in height and thickness. Therefore, mainly the posterior bone resorption sextant jaw usually leads to a reduced heel, and therefore the installation of implants in these regions becomes rather difficult.

Pterygoid / Nasal Implants

In the edentulous upper jaw the placement of implants can be challenging due to limited bone quantity and the presence of the maxillary sinus. Pterygoid implants present an alternative option to use residual bone for implant anchorage and to overcome the need for augmentation procedures.

2.Oral surgery

The Department of Oral Surgery is the branch of medicine that deals with the treatment of aesthetic and medical problems in the lower part of the face. Surgery is also performed in this department for phonetic or functional problems in the mouth, jaw and teeth. The structure of the mouth, teeth and jaw is one, consisting of interconnected tissues. For this reason, not all toothaches end with tooth extraction, but this special technique investigates whether other oral tissues are healthy or not, fights tissue disorders and salivary gland problems in the mouth and jaw area.

Surgical extraction of wisdom teeth

Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to appear in the dental arches. These teeth are placed left and right, up and down at the end of the mouth. Being the last teeth to appear, they do not have enough physical space and therefore encounter various problems. There are cases in which these teeth fail to come out of the gums and their growth continues inward causing the individual's jaw to deform; Another case that can be mentioned is that this tooth can only come out halfway out and thus can cause other teeth to be sprained. These and many other problems can only be avoided with the extraction of these teeth by surgery.

Cystectomy

Cysts are pathological cavities filled with fluid and lined with tissue. They can form in bones and soft tissues. Dental cysts appear as your body's reaction to the ongoing infection that comes from the dental pulp that is infected. If there are many infected teeth, a cyst may appear in each of them. Individuals with poor oral hygiene are the most at risk of developing cysts. If a cyst has affected a larger part of the tooth root, that tooth needs to be extracted and then followed by what is called a cystectomy. Removal of the cyst can usually be done under local anesthesia with a simple surgical procedure. If the cyst is very large, more extensive surgery may be required to rebuild the bone after the cyst is removed.

Periodontal surgery

Periodontal surgery deals with the surgical therapies of a very widespread but little known disease, periodontal disease commonly called pyorrhea.

With periodontal surgery it is possible to eliminate a dangerous consequence of the disease from the patient's mouth, the periodontal pocket, inside which dangerous bacteria and tartar can settle, allowing the disease to progress up to the loss of the tooth. With our state-of-the-art equipment and doctors who specialize in these types of surgery we make possible a much more comfortable dental process.

Cosmetic Surgery

In recent years, the practice of cosmetic surgery has expanded to include oral surgeons. Oral cosmetic surgery is designed to give you the biggest, brightest and safest smile possible through the use of various surgical techniques. Now any dissatisfaction regarding the teeth or the smile of the individual finds an immediate solution with the novelty brought by oral cosmetic surgery.

PRF (plasma) / oxygen therapy treatment

In our clinic we provide the most advanced technology in every dental treatment department and PRF treatment is one of them. Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) helps speed up the healing process of patients after undergoing dental surgery or other procedures. PRF treatment is capable of generating both soft tissue and bone and can be used in conjunction with a bone substitute or alone. It is a simple and completely safe procedure that allows you to get back to work immediately.

Oxygen therapy

Highly concentrated oxygen-based beauty treatments are able to use pure oxygen in a revolutionary way to detoxify, nourish and revitalize skin cells. From the first moment of oxygen therapy, the oxygen activator product and oxygen reach the lower layers of the skin to accelerate blood circulation, remove toxins and delay cellular aging by activating the cellular metabolism of the skin. Since oxygen therapy is applied to the skin with a certain pressure, it has a massage effect and thus stimulates the synthesis of collagen and elastin.

Removal of salivary gland stones

Salivary stones are formed in the salivary glands in particular in the submandibular glands and less frequently in the parotid glands, extremely rare are stones in the sublingual glands and minor salivary glands of the mouth. Growth often causes the glandular ducts to dilate which creates salivary stagnation and bacterial infections. This condition is characterized by the appearance of pain on chewing, reduced production of saliva, and inflammation or real glandular abscesses. In our clinic we use highly efficient and painless therapeutic sialendoscopy to remove the stone. In some cases, where the stone is quite large it is first crushed and then the fragments are extracted.

3. Patients with dental phobia / systemic diseases

Dental phobia is the fear of dentistry and of receiving dental care. An excessive and unreasonable form of this fear is called dental phobia. Dental phobia is not only a disabling disease for patients, it also affects the relationship between doctors and patients and compliance is difficult. A systemic disease is a disease that affects multiple systems or organs. Often, these are rheumatic diseases or forms of rare diseases and such as genetic diseases.

Management of dental phobia

The objectives of psychological work in the dental field usually focus on the issues of relaxation, distraction, a better relationship with the team, these are aimed at making it easier for the patient with dental phobia to undergo treatments that can inspire fear. In our clinic we have doctors specialized in the psychological field whose primary purpose is the management of dental phobia and relaxation of the patient.

Conscious sedation

If you are anxious to go to the dentist for an invasive dental procedure or simply for an oral exam you are not alone. Many people are afraid of the pain they might feel during the procedure and this fear prevents them from going to a dental clinic for a checkup, thus aggravating any oral problems they may already have. Conscious sedation is achieved through the administration of drugs and aims to promote relaxation and counteract the state of agitation and pain before and during the surgery. Our clinic uses well-designed methods to administer conscious sedation such as: tablet to be taken orally, gas to be inhaled, intravenous injection, intramuscular injection. All these methods are performed by our highly experienced stomatologists so that we can give you the most correct implementation of this procedure.

Treatment of diabetic patients

Diabetes sufferers have a two to three times greater risk of developing chronic oral disorders, such as periodontitis, than a non-diabetic person; at the same time this pathology can be a risk factor for the onset of diabetes, and there is a direct relationship between the severity and extent of periodontitis and worsening of glycemic control. The diabetic patient needs a close specific collaboration of all the medical and dental staff. At OCO Dental Clinic, our dental hygienist can become the reference figure for mouth health, carrying out proper dental prevention and helping patients to take greater control over the factors that affect the maintenance of healthy teeth and gums. Compliance with the therapeutic regimen for diabetics, especially the correct use of insulin and a strict diet, is essential to avoid complications in the oral cavity, especially at the gingival level. Our professional doctors are experienced in treating diabetic patients and are able to understand the needs of patients and therefore do everything to make you feel relaxed and safe.
